Delighted to announce that the short film I wrote and part-produced, Love Cake, will have its world premiere in York this November as part of the fantastic Aesthetica Short Film Festival (ASFF).
A dynamic player on the UK film festival circuit, the ASFF is known for celebrating and championing all genres of independent short films from across the world.
Directed by Eleanor Yule, Love Cake is a romantic comedy about loneliness, desire, transgression and cake. The idea for the film began whilst I was studying at the Screen Academy Scotland and it was made as a response to what seemed to be (at the time) endless ‘miserabilist’ films. Sure life can be hard sometimes, but it can also be wonderful and strange, and full of sponge.
More updates to follow, and Love Cake’s social media presence will shortly be revealed for those who want to follow its journey!
